Return + Refund Policy ONLINE ORDERS

Due to the nature of our small business and focus on small batch goods, we do not have large quantities in stock, please let us know if you have any sizing or fit questions so we can help you make the right selection to help minimize the need for returns.
 
We want you to love your purchases from us, so we invite you to contact us for consultation on fit, measurements, photos, fabric details and close ups, etc. so we can help you make an intentional choice on something you hope to keep.
 
Items purchased on SALE are final sale - please understand this is a firm policy in order to keep things fair for all of our customers.

 

Online Return + Refund policy

  
If your initial order after returns no longer qualifies for covered shipping (less than $150 after returns), the initial shipping fees covered by CMD will be deducted from your refund.  

 

We have a 7 day return policy, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to initiate a return request by sending us an email at info@coalminersdaughter.ca. When your return is approved you will receive a Return Authorization # and have 5 days from the approved date to return or send your item to us for a refund to be issued. SALE items are final sale.

 

Please note that in-store/curbside pick-up orders need to be picked up within 21 days of your order date in order to be eligible for return options.

 

Wish to return at the store? No problem! Please make sure you have already initiated your return with the webshop team and that we have provided you with a Return Authorization # - please be aware that it is often not the same humans working in the stores as the team processing online orders and returns, and they will need to check in with the web team before a refund can be processed - please leave the item with the shop also giving them the Return Authorization Number you were provided and/or showing the email received that the return process has begun. 

  

To start a return, kindly contact us at info@coalminersdaughter.ca and let us know what didn't work out. Please be advised you will be responsible for any return shipping costs. Please note Items sent back to us without first requesting a return may not be accepted. 

  

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You will also need the order number as proof of purchase.

 

 If the item is a GIFT and you need more than 7 days, let us know ahead of time so we can approve a within reason extension. Holiday Gifts adhere to our Extended Holiday Return Policy and cannot be returned for a refund, instead a digital Gift Certificate will be issued (for mail in returns) or in store we will issue a Store Credit or the item can be exchanged at that time.

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

 

Exchanges

If you want to exchange for another item, the best way to proceed is to buy the item you want instead online, and still be in touch with us within 7 days to arrange for the return and refund of the original item purchased. 

 

Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund to your account.

 

Holiday Gift Returns 

Holiday gifts may be returned during our extended holiday return window between January 2nd - 16thPlease note that we do not offer refunds for returned holiday gifts. Holiday returns taking advantage of our extended return window for holiday gifts will be given the option to exchange at the time of return for another item(s) or to take a Store Credit. All returns must be accompanied with the original valid receipt or gift receipt, and adhere to our conditions for all returns: tags attached, unworn and unused. Holiday gift returns are not accepted during boxing week and only between Jan 2nd - 16th.

 

Remote returns (by mail) of holiday gifts, purchased online or at one of our physical locations, will be accepted during the same return window, and the sender will be issued a digital Gift Certificate for the value of the returned item provided they have provided us with the original order number or receipt as proof of purchase and a valid email address for us to issue the gift certificate to. Digital Gift Certificates for returned items will not be issued before January 2nd or after January 16th. Once the return has been approved the sender must have the item in the mail to us and provide us with tracking by January 16th.
