ABOUT RISA
Welcome to Risa Vancouver, a leather handbag brand founded by two sisters — Riddhima and Saloni — from the heart of Vancouver. Our journey is deeply personal and proudly rooted in our family’s legacy, one that spans over 40 years in the leather industry.
Rooted in tradition. Driven by purpose. Crafted with heart.
Our inspiration comes from our father, whose passion and expertise in leather craftsmanship began in Jalandhar, India. He has dedicated decades to sourcing the finest leather, building trusted relationships with local tanneries, and preserving an artisanal trade that we hold close to our hearts. Today, we are proud to continue his legacy — but with a renewed vision that blends heritage with sustainability.
Carrying Forward a Legacy — Sustainably
At Risa, we believe in creating beautiful pieces with purpose. That’s why all of our leather is upcycled — sourced from leftover hides that would otherwise be discarded by larger brands and destined for landfills. These high-quality materials are carefully handpicked by our father and his team in Jalandhar, ensuring that nothing goes to waste and every bag tells a story of thoughtful reuse.
Once selected, the leather travels to our small-batch workshop in Delhi, where each handbag is lovingly handcrafted by skilled women artisans. These incredible women are not only preserving the art of traditional leather craftsmanship but are also supporting their families and communities through their work.
